    Default NOW Cable Internet

I'm currently evaluating NOW Cable Internet. Is there anyone else in this forum currently using their service? I'd like to hear from you.

    Thanks.

I've been a NOW subscriber since 2000 and I've only had a few complaints on their service but nothing major like losing internet connection for more than half a day. The speed is pretty decent but I'm sure it could be faster. I've had connection problems using video on chat saying I don't have enough bandwidth but I'm not sure if that's just me.

Also been using NOW Cable Internet since 2000 here in Greenhills. Connection's been fairly reliable, rarely down. Like Melissa, I also wish it was much faster. Am always La Salle green w/ envy at the speeds you DSL subscribers enjoy!

been a subcriber myself since 2000 i think. Speed is kinda slow.. always getting disconnected in battle.net games there goes my ladder record in WC3 haha. 2500 monthly is kinda expensive especially since mydsl subscribers went up a notch.. although i did some tests a few weeks back and i got 300kbps in 2wire but highly doubt it since sometimes when i surf i get dismally slow loading pages.

Well, compared to Destiny, the pared down version that I've been complaining about lately, NOW is slower. I did a bandwidthplace.com speed test and I get between 115 to 120kbps. Destiny is between 160 to 190kbps (still too slow for me).

Destiny is P1,980/mo. I just realized I'm getting ripped off because their current package is P1,688/mo. and to think I paid for the modem already.

NOW 128kbs is P2,200/mo. A bit more expensive, but if it's slower, then why should I consider shifting? The 256kbps package is P2,805, which is a little over my budget. And at that price, I'll just go for PLDT myDSL Personal which offers 512kbps at P2,500.

In the U.S., cable is usually over 1Mbps. 128kbps is 1/10th that speed!

Well, speed doesn't tell the whole story. To be fair, I'll evaluate NOW for the next 7 days and see if I can live with it.

It's not the technology, it's the ISP. ;-)

I was informed last week that, based on the feedback I submitted, NOW raised the cap and doubled the speeds on its packages. i.e. 128 is now 256, 256 is now 512. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes NOW cable will offer 128k at P990, 256k at P2200, 384k at P2805 respectively. Sorry there will be no 512k connections yet.
