    Default nmbd?

Little Snitch is asking me if I will allow nmbd to connect. What is nmbd? Should I allow it forever?

nmbd is the netbios name server, which lets you use windows file sharing over IP networks. If you need to share your files with windows or other macs using windows file sharing, you will have to allow this.

i started to get this little snitch warning only recently. i've been sharing files with a pc in my home network before, how come I'm only getting the nmbd liitle snitch message now? and weird it wants to connect to a lot of unfamiliar ports. bww, it only started when I used dial up to coonect to the net. My pldtdsl connection has been down for two weeks now so I had to resort to dial up.

try to disable your smb and enable it only when you really need it.
