My PLDT myDSL connection is very slow

Hi, I'm paying 1,500+ pesos a month for DSL. I don't know how much speed I'm supposed to be getting but according to speedtest, these are my download and upload speeds:

When I'm downloading something on Azureus, the fastest I get is around 16 kB/s. I'm also using a Linksys WRT45G router. Does that have anything to do with my slow speed?

The thing about PLDT in QC is that the speeds have been highly inconsistent ever since the Taiwan quake. So intermittent in fact that we shifted to Bayan Telecommunications. Bayan's speeds are nothing to party about either but at least the connection doesn't die on you every 2 hours or so. We have a similar set up and for what you are paying, you should definitely be getting more. When PLDT decides to work, however, the speeds are pure bliss. Bayan's speeds are just ok but at least they are consistent and reliable. I suppose we just can't have everything-- in QC at least.

ask lang what cable broadband are you using and how much do you pay a month? been planning to switch just don't know what to get.

Make sure you enable port forwarding on your router. If you aren't getting green happy faces on your torrents then something is defintely wrong. Also it depends on how well the torrent is seeded. Also don't forget to secure your wireless connection to your router as you don't know if your next door neighbor is already tapping into your connection.

Our DSL was slow rin for a couple of weeks. My brother called PLDT for them to fix it. They just replaced the cables and here's mine:



We only have the 999 plan.
