    Default Missing Bluetooth?

I was panicking a few hours ago because Bluetooth was no longer functioning when I powered on my Powerbook. I did a search here, at PinoyMac and at MacNN but could not find any information (or maybe I just missed it).

Anyway, googling for a few minutes more dug up the solution:

    Shift+Ctrl+Option+Power button

When I restarted, Bluetooth was functioning once again. What's the technical term for that series of keystrokes?

My Bluetooth is also acting weird. It only seemed to happen after the series of security updates. I can no longer seem to send text using Address Book. (I could still receive though).

    Akala ko ako lang!

My bluetooth setup has been acting wonky since the recent updates too.

The connection breaks all the time, after a couple of minutes, and all my restarting and re-pairing are useless. Been driving me crazy.

That's the way to reset the Power management Unit (PMU).

While we are on this subject, here are some other startup keystrokes and what they do.

    • Press X during startup - Force Mac OS X startup

    • Press Option-Command-Shift-Delete during startup - Bypass primary startup volume and seek a different startup volume (such as a CD or external disk)

    • Press C during startup - Start up from a CD that has a system folder

    • Press N during startup - Attempt to start up from a compatible network server (NetBoot)

    • Press R during startup - Force PowerBook screen reset

    • Press T during startup - Start up in FireWire Target Disk mode

    • Press Shift during startup - start up in Safe Boot mode and temporarily disable login items and non-essential kernel extension files (Mac OS X 10.2 and later)

    • Press Command-V during startup - Start up in Verbose mode.

    • Press Command-S during startup- Start up in Single-User mode (command line)

After the updates, haven't really experienced anything wrong w/ my 'Book's BT connection.

    Been lucky there.

What's been ticking me off & everybody else is the iChat's recent update: "You left the chat" even if you didn't, etc.
