Default mac crashes when dialup is too busy

Whenever my dialup isp is very busy and Internet Connect redials several times, my whole system crashes (see attached photo). The text says, "Exception state (sv=0x00336230) previously dumped as 'Latest' state, skipping" in an infinite loop. I have to turn off the mac to get out of this trap.

This has happened several times already. Anyone know what's happening?

There was a time, when I had to dial-up because Destiny was down, so I was on pre-paid dial-up. The same thing happened to me then. IIt happened a few times too. Same situation too, only on numerous redials. I never knew what the problem was though.

Had this one. Quite rare, though.

How did you turn it off or reboot?

Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds or so.
