    Default Internet Sharing

If I connect my iBook to the ethernet via ethernet is it possible to share my connection to a Powerbook? I tried turning on the internet sharing on both, but the PB isn't able to get the connection.
I'm able to connect them via airport for file sharing, but can't seem to get the whole internet sharing thing.
    TIA for help.

Just check the proper ports and select the right source in 'share your connection from'. It's a little tricky at first try..playing with the settings and you'll get it.

I've got 'share your connection from built-in ethernet to computers using airport' checked, but still not luck. Theoretically it seems right, but just can't get it to work out.

you only have to turn on internet sharing on the computer connected to the internet, not on both. so in your case, turn on internet sharing on the ibook but don't turn it on for the powerbook. on the powerbook, go to network in system preferences and turn on airport and choose the ibook from the list. you don't have to change any settings manually, just leave it on automatic.

i use internet sharing at home with my powerbook and thinkpad and it works flawlessly.

Do you need to reboot the iBook when you finish configuring the internet sharing? or its works off the fly?

I followed your instructions S13, but still can't surf on the powerbook. I tried reversing it (connect the PB to thhe internet and share to the iBook), but still nothing.
I didn't turn on the internet sharing on the airport internet book. Is there any other way to sare a connection?

ok, need some more info. what's the OS version on each computer? are you running any firewall software? can you provide a screenshot of the network preferences and internet sharing panel?

Try setting up proxy. What is your internet connection?
