Increasing signal strength of an AE Base Station
Anyone know of ways to increase the signal strength of Airport Extreme Base Stations (this one has no ports to put third party antennas).

The Dr. Bott external antenna is only compatible with AEBS with external antenna port.

link how to do it.
Btw, take note of the drawback... either you dont use the casing or make a hole.
Hey Mike!
I'm thinking of trying this on my old ABS snow. We should do it together! I'm scared I might break something eh!

Replace it with a Linksys WRT54G. ;-) Just kidding!
The QuickerTek Airport Basestation Antenna might be the answer. You'll need a drill to install it though (yup, you're gonna have to drill a hole in your AEBS). $122(!) from Small Dog.

Actually I was thinking of getting a WRT54G. At least there's a hack to jack up the juicy beyond FCC regs.
I guess am just gonna have to put the base station in my room.

i'd be interested in that too.
i have a wrt54g located on the ground floor of my house and the signal strength on the 2nd floor isnt strong enough.

FYI: from what I remember from my training when I worked at Linksys, it's better to put the WiFi Router/Access Point at the highest part of your house. Not at the lowest, not unless your using a repeater of some sort (or another AP or Booster).
