Default Help: WiFi connected but can’t surf (Pier One)

It was my first time to try a wireless connection in Pier One (the Fort).

My AirPort was on and says that I am connected to Pier One:

But even if I was connected, I couldn’t surf. For example, I couldn’t open the Apple website. Like this grab:

I couldn’t even retrieve my email.

What was wrong in my connection? Sorry, I’m a wifi newbie, did I miss anything here?

I am using a PB 12 with APX. I tried a wifi connection in SBS Rockwell before (using Airborne Access), and I had no problem.

    Help please.

I think you have to register at Pier One Fort to access internet. They asked me to fill up a form before. It's for free. They are just protecting their system from possible virus infection and hackers.

Check if you are able to get an IP address.
Go to Systems Preference then Network.

IF you don't have a private IP (192....), then you can't really surf because their system is protected.

You will have to register with them.

I tried to connect to our office internet with the WEP password given to me by our MIS guy. My AirPort is On and it says I'm Connected to DMPI. However, I can't surf the net and the error message says I'm not connected to the Internet. What seems to be the problem?

Your inputs would be greatly appreciated! =)

try to create "new location" on your network preference.
