I did a search and saw that this topic was touched on, albeit tangentially, here and here, but no one seems to have come up with the specific info I'm looking for.
Here's my problem: I can't install the drivers for the HP LaserJet 1010 on my boss' iBook, which is strange because I didn't have any problems installing it on my PB.
Here's a recap of what I did:
1. Did a clean install of Tiger (10.4.0) on my PB in early May. Installed HP LJ 1010 driver without problems. Duplicated the printer setup for the office (same model printer at home and in the office) and changed the name and location without problems. Have been printing to both printers for nearly a month without problems.
2. Updated boss' iBook to 10.4.1 as soon as he got it (2 weeks ago). I installed the printed driver last weekend, apparently without any problems.
3. Tried adding the printer, which appeared as a USB printer on the list of available printers, but I could not select the installed driver (version 1.1.3). The pop-up list of printer doesn't include the LJ 1010, even though the Apple site includes the printer in its list of installed printers.
One more thing, when I try to add the printer via the Printer Browser, I only get AppleTalk, Bluetooth, and Windows sharing as options. I remember it used to have USB printer as an option (in Panther, at least).
