    Default destiny cable\'s SMTP

Anyone here knows what's Destiny Cable's SMTP?
I haven't been able to send my mail the normal way for about five days already.

    Thanks!

Jorweeck, are you by any chance BEHIND a wired/wireless router? That is, is your Mac behind something else and not directly connected to the Internet? Destiny's SMTP is smtp.mydestiny.net (or mail.mydestiny.net). Are you getting the error "client access rejected"?

I spent about 2 weeks troubleshooting this with their NOC, and had my problem resolved (after presenting evidence that it was THEIR ACLs that were causing the problem).

I thought as much that it would be their fault. My problem is that I can't even call their customer service hotline since the machine keeps on telling me that their service is unavailable. I have all means to sue them just for the misery they're giving me.

    Their number is 8419393 right?

Gino. I am using a 3Com wireless router. How do I present them that it IS THEIR problem? ^_^

Jorweeck, their customer "hotline" for Internet subscribers is 841-9393. But good luck getting through.

Anyway, here's something to try out. Plug your Mac directly to the cable modem and then try receiving/sending email. You'll find that it works. When you reconnect your router to the cable modem, have it get a new IP address (find the option to release the current IP and then renew the lease). Though they did not admit it, I've a feeling that their ACLs are restrictive based on the IP address we're using.

So basically, I just need to unplug and then re-plug the cable modem? And it should work?:wound:

That doesn't work all the time because most DHCP servers "remember" the IP address they've assigned to a particular MAC address (caching, usually). So I go through those steps to get a new IP. I've noticed some of their IP blocks don't get the same treatment (as is the case for me now).
