Default Airport Express to extend a wired network

I was pleasantly surprised when the Airport Express worked with my fiancee's D-Link wired router to provide Wi-Fi to wireless clients. I just tried it out even though it wasn't documented in the user's guide. Basically, the connection goes from the cable modem -> D-Link wired router -> Airport Express -> Wi-Fi client. Just FYI for those who were wondering

So you guys didn't have to upgrade the firmware of the router to enable the Airport Express to become a signal repeater? Because some people have problems enabling their Airport Express to become repeaters. I am in the process of getting my Airport Express... (still wating for my order to be confirmed) and I want to couple it with my Linksys WRT54G.

Any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

I didn't change my AE's firmware, but I'm not using it to extend the range of a 3rd-party wireless router. I'm only using the AE basically to make a wired router (D-Link DI-604) become wireless capable. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh i see. So it was a straight plug in from the router.

    Thanks for the tip though!
