AE BS & other access points

Is it possible to link AirPort Extreme BaseStation with a non-AE BS access point? I need something to extend the range of my hotspot.

AFAIK, that's not possible. You can only wirelessly link up an AEBS with other AEBS'.

The AEBS comes with an external antenna port. You can attach a directional or omnidirectional antenna.

If AEBS implements the WDS standard, then you can, in theory, use other brand access points with WDS support.
