Default When did you realize you were part of the Mac Cult?

    and so it happens...

the other day, while talking with a complete stranger about techie stuff in general (and having noticed that he uses a SE K700) ...

we moved on to laptops. This international speaker then mentioned that he's definitely going to make the Switch in 2005, and trash his Toshiba-PC in favor of a Powerbook. Perfect for his travelling, multi-media-heavy, presentation-filled life.

And on hearing this, I was happy.

Not just "oh that's nice. he's making the switch" happy. I mean, "I had a warm fuzzy feeling deep down inside" because he's making the Switch kinda happy.

and that's when I *realized* (undeniably so!) that I really was a Mac lover , not just a user or enthusiast.

    How about you?

I realised I was part of the cult of mac when having no floppy drive at all didn't matter to me anymore...

That and when I realised that I knew what a "dogcow" actually was. Moof!

I think I became a bonafide member right on the day we got our first Mac. I just couldn't stop raving about it on my online journal. I think I may have annoyed some of my regular readers, if there were any, hehe.

Seriously, the time when I felt like I was a real member of the Cult of Mac was during PhilMug's first grand EB.

When I gave a "discourse" on how Macs are more integrated into the OS and how programs are more integrated into the OS. aka Tight-integration and the dude I was talking to instantly decided to switch and I felt so good about it.

The first time I ever laid my eyes on a Mac, I was drawn to it. When I started following Jobs and Kawasaki, and speaking with fire about the Mac - I knew then, I was getting there. When a small motely group of passionate Mac users called the Mackey Mouse Club realized we can be big and formed PhilMUG, started calling ourselves MacEvangelists....that was IT....I was in the CULT!

When a client applauded my first keynote presentation and said (with beady eyes towards my pb) "... and I hate your Mac!" Oh. It felt sooooooo GOOD!
