It seems djwoblely is a victim here, but of course.. I'm also not saying he isn't, because he's your primary suspect here now! So unless he has answers to help you know, that's where you stand now macalua.. go call him & report it already, so this could be investigated already!

darn! I hope he got contact numbers from of the seller (obviously if the seller is the thief he'l use temporary sims) or a name, or something where he lives so that he can tell macalua or the police.. just some leads where to find the thief itself.

djwoblely will be in the losing end here if ever since he paid hard-earned cash for something he didnt know was stolen.

And if he couldn't trace it back to whomever he'd bought it from, he'd have to give up the MacBook to macalua or else face the Police authorities, because there's an anti-fencing law.

This is going to be like VAT (in-reverse) re: who's collecting whom & who's eventually going to be the end-user here (the last source of the re-sale of this stolen MBP), that's going to have to give the money back to the next person he'd bought it from.

The real victim would be the one that couldn't point where he or she bought it from, because those that could point out where they bought it from, could technically get his/her money back from that other person (if I'm not mistaken) or else, file charges also to that person (in-effect) that sold the stolen MBP in the first place!

And w/macalua's diligence & perseverance, he could possibly get his stolen MBP back or it's monetary equivalent, eventually later.
