Default Real World Mac Sightings: Muggers in/of the World.

*Inspired by the apple sticker spotting thread.*

    Muggers of the world unite.

"Are you a mugger?" This is a question that often goes through my head, every time I see someone with a Mac. There have been quite a few close encounters, in fact. During the earthquake, someone posted something about being in Coffee Bean, and it turns out that it was me! Now, as I go through my days, I can't shake off the feeling that the person sitting beside me is a mugger. So, the question remains, but with more focus and direction: Are you the mugger I saw today?

Today, I saw two potential muggers. I went to SencoLink this afternoon, and I saw a girl with a Maria Montessori bag. She was there to claim her iBook. Now, as I sit in Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, the girl on my left is typing away at her iBook (while her "unenlightened" friend is presumably rebooting or fighting away the blue screens of death hehehe).

I saw someone at Paseo-de-sta.rosa, in Sta. Rosa during a photoshoot there carrying a powerbook one time. I almost asked him if he was a philmugger.

if wonder if there's a way that we can identify fellow muggers. hmm. nothing weird like "i come in peace." some sort of universal mugger sign. hmm.

ugh, not a vulcan-ish boy scout sign. A small off-white decal might do, but still, not everybody likes having decals on their laptops (it makes it look more like a widely travelled luggage).

The best way to know is to regularly attend Philmug meetings and meet them personally, and then if you bump into each other again, you could easily strike up a conversation.
