I stumbled upon these screenshots of Longhorn, the next-generation Windows OS at ExtremeTech.
Guess where Bill gets all his "innovation" from. Transparent windows, drop shadows, cool colors, window management--sounds familiar, no?
iNOTE:
if you look carefully on the wallpaper in some of the screenshots you'll notice that the orginally overly-green, funguslike, grass is now brown. maybe an indication of ideas drying up?
Their idea of "expose" comes from Sun's Looking Glass -- there is one option that I like about Looking Glass -- the ability to turn over a window and post a note on it. I am sure xineizer can give us a demo.
Oh well, Bill can make Longhorn look exactly the same as OSX... but I'll still be looking forward to his best trick of all... THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!!
arty:
That's something us OSX users will forever be deprived of... hehehe

wow. what a neat idea. it would be nice to see something like that on 'tiger'.
Apple will preview Tiger at it's Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco on June 28. If they follow the schedule they had for Panther last year, you can expect the final version around October or November.
You can check out the other threads on Tiger by using the Search box towards the top of every page
