iPuņeta
it been almost two weeks since my iBook has been in the apple center. chaka kasi ng firewire port ko. somehow, it got destroyed, and that they have to change the entire logic board to fix it. and walang supplies sa singapore!!!!
gosh! i've already spent close to $70 dollars spurucing up my PC so that it would look like my mac pero no!!! i still miss my mac!!! (in fairness, super worth it naman ang stardock central, and everything else that comes with it)
the saddest part pa is i recently bought several CDs that i want to upload to my iTunes, pero siyempre, since wala nga iBook ko, bitin. i don't wanna download it to my windows iTunes kasi that's a different library.
wala lang. ranting lang. APPLE SINGAPORE!!! PAHINGING LOGIC BOARD BILIS!!!!

I thought profanity wasn't allowed in this forum?

on profanity:
it would have been different if i called you p**eta. the title, in itself, was suppose to make fun of a situation that called for a little humor, especially on my side. it's the same kind of censorship that prevails when, let's say, the word "titi" is used, and taken completely out of context, say, in the phrase "a PC can't seem to stand on it's own; para siyang titi."
we make words profane when we think of them profanely. i personally, apologize if the word "iPuņeta" seemed a bit too much for your conservative ears. but i hope, like most of us do here, you keep a liberal ear to something as mundane as a pun on words.
as for you quicksilver, let's just hope your ears are the only virgin thing left in your body, otherwise, halika na. chumika na tayo sa labas at kailangan mo na ng date!

If it takes too long, if I were you, I'd demand the whole unit be replaced. Reason out that you need it for your studies etc. etc. Or ask for a service unit. Once you get your real iBook back, you can just Carbon Copy Clone everything.
Option 2, use only as a last resort: Get nasty and that if they cannot give you a reasonable date on when it can be repaired and picked up, reason out that waiting for a logic board is too long and ask for a refund nalang kung ganon.
But Apple Center is one of the few excellent and respectable resellers around. So I doubt you'll need to get nasty. Pakiusapan mo nalang. They're very reasonable and generous people.
As for profanity, your point is taken. But whether directed at someone or not, its still not allowed here. There are minors that browse this forum. So I would appreciate if you would rename the title as well as correct/censor the other words.
Thankyou. Goodluck with your iBook.

It is Apple's fault they're out of logic boards - you can demand for a complete replacement of your iBook from Apple Centre and I am sure that they will understand and simply charge it to Apple Singapore (since it is their fault anyway). Lawrence is a reasonable ole chap - am sure he'll understand.
Since you're from UP (student or faculty), I might be able to help you out - have direct links to Apple Singapore.

iGuys!
dits: pretty confident with the apple center guys. they have been nothing but the most patient and courteous with me (all branches yan ha, from SM city to MegaMall, especially greenbelt!) naloloka lang ako sa tagal ng order for a logic board from singapore (which i know is not their fault) kasi nga i have a new found career as a writer and i have had to revert back to writing my scripts back again here on my PC desktop, as oppossed to having my iBook right at the meeting where i can automatically do the revisions. but yeah, the apple center people are great. may kasama pang chika ang customer service! kaya kahit minsan mas mahal, sa kanila pa rin ako bumibili! =)
kai: hinay lang! i just got this iBook no! although i do want a powerbook (dahli mas sosyal ang look niya), im pretty happy with this one. aside from the full warranty (that i am so glad to have), it matches my iPod and the rest of my other mac stuff. alam mo naman: everything has to match, from the shoes down to the hardware. kahit nga yung harddrive ko, i had to find a white casing that matched my iBook (again, purchased at the apple center). tarush di ba! hayaan mo, if i ever decide to shift, anjan naman si always-dependable-techy-ditoy-d-eagle-pogi na 1998 pa lang ay tawagan ko na for all my tech support needs, cakewalk 7 sa pentium II pa lang!
directX: super thank you! i will keep you posted if do need to have this particular iBook changed. i have been reading from several posts na medyo nagiging careless nga daw ang apple these days with defective units, particularly with the logic boards of the G5. sana naman wag madamay ang iBooks. as for being from UP, yup, i am a student, and also a guest lecturer with CAL (under the Department of Speech and Theatre Arts, and also with the Fine Arts Theatre Arts Department of Ateneo), pero Econ Student. weird no? oh well...
thanks guys! sigh. now i miss my mac more. sabi naman ni gail hopefully by monday. crossing my fingers!
