    Default iPod As External HD

I was just wondering...I have a 40G 3rd Gen iPod. To date it has about 2,200 songs which uses up about 11 G's. Is it okay to use the remaining space to store other files such as QT movies? Is it stable enough?

I would think so. I use the remaining space on my 20GB 2nd Gen (around 8GB) for transferring large files and as temporary backup.

I would agree with mgd. My ipod serves as the target location everytime I run backup. I have around 11gig worth of data on top of my itunes collection.

I backup my data on my iPod when I get the chance. What I hate about it is that I can't read the files in my iPod on a WinBox. Formatting it to Windows version causes a pop-up on my mac everytime I hook it up which is a hassle for me.
