I just upgraded my Mac mini from 256MB to 1GB. I got the 1GB from Crucial.
I followed the instructions from the PDF document HERE. When replacing the RAM, all you need is a putty knife, no screwdrivers. The only thing a bit hard is when closing the case. The small teeth-like aluminum guides should properly be aligned and pushed inside the case.
I have attached some pics. Note that the 256MB from Apple is PC3200.
The performace significantly improvedafter the upgrade. Browser rendering is faster now. I can work with several apps running at the same time. Dreamweaver doesn't crash now. Photoshop also euns faster now.
