Default Having trouble playing .avi movies

    Hi guys,
Can you recommend me a player that isn't picky when it comes to playing .avi movies? I have several movies from Combovideos.com that only plays the audio in VLC.
It works fine in Windows Media Player at a PC, though.

    You could also try MPlayer.

Kelvin: Yup, I just downloaded the latest version before posting. :wound:
Vicicasas: Someone suggested MPlayer, it also plays just the audio. The video window of MPlayer crashes.

    Hi Subtle.
Just downloaded the file. But, uh, what's it for? It unstuffs these 5 files: divx config, divx register, divx.com, license & readme.

Btw, I've tried playing it on the following players:
    a. plays only the audio
    VLC
    Quicktime
    MPlayer

    b. has no idea what it is
    WMP
    Real

You must have downloaded the wrong installer. Direct download link for OS X version.

DivX is a codec that gives your system the ability to play DivX-encoded movies (.AVI). After installation, most .AVI files with play properly even when using QuickTime Player. :-)
