Default File security on firewire drives

There was an unfortunate incident in the office this week. Someone decided to delete my entire FCP project & folders, flushing down around 60 gigs and 2 weeks worth of work.

Is there a way or a program which will allow me to secure files on the firewire hard drives so that people cannot view or delete them arbitrarily?

If you're using OS X exclusively and your FW drive was formatted using OS X Extended partition, you can perhaps try fiddling around with the folder permissions. Right-click on the folder you want to protect, select get info. You can then set the permissions on the info dialog.

    OMG

Perhaps you can call Christopher Tan of Xylon to retrieve you files.

Dang man. That really sucks. I'd be furious. Was it done on purpose?

How about putting a padlock on your HD
