when i went to Greenhills last week, i was looking for iphone 4 brandnew sealed and factory unlocked.

upon checking the box, the part no. is MC403ZP/A w/c is ok BUT, the box indicated 32G. for your info, mc403 is 16g and mc405 is 32g

and also you can see the printed label is a little bit off from the standard.

the seller insisting its genuine product because its sealed..... i didnt argue and just walk away.

Can't we do something about this? they do this also with any phones and not only iphones. nokia phones din. They put plastic sealant on the screen and all. I know stalls who do this. Please let me know what we can do. I really want to report these for months now.

I hope the GH management closes down on this modus. Even the honest sellers are affected and many people now think that buying from greenhills, while cheap, also means you might be buying low quality goods, even the supposed original items.

Which is why we should:
1. do our homework before buying such gadgets (what to expect, not to expect)
2. buy only from stores/sellers we are comfortable with
3. inspect the packaging and unit before leaving the store (better if you do so before paying). I'm a suki at PMC and Digital Hub and yet, I always request to inspect the unit throughly before signing the credit card slip or handing over the check.

Okay, it may be tricky to detect a lemon especially when internal components are concerned. Thus, be really picky with the store you intend to buy your device from.
- do they look like a fly-by-night operation?
- are their prices just too good to be true?
- what's their policy on defective items?
- do they have technicians on hand?

At the end of the day, it's a choice between saving money and having peace of mind. Sometimes, going for peace of mind actually ends up in saving money as well.
