actually the incoming email itself used to come in a pale blue color but now all mail comes in black. what i do is classify each email as junk if it is so or not if it isnt. i don't what i did. just wondering what i messed up there. nothing i cant live with anyway. ill just keep experimenting with it till i get the color for junk mail back to normal hue.
thanks for the reply, patrick.

by the way, i found a site, www.spymac.com that is offering one gig of free email space. you can use the one gig for other apps as well. fyi.

You might have switched Mail's Junk Mail filtering from Training to Automatic. When it's in Training mode, all e-mail that Mail suspects as being junk will be marked a different color but are kept in your In box. If Mail is in Automatic mode, Mail will automatically move suspected junk mail into a Junk folder. Try switching between the 2 modes and see if it goes back to the way you want your new e-mail to be handled. You can do this by going to Mail -> Preferences -> Junk Mail.
