submit error to mac

It's been happening often lately. Whatever program I'm using would "unexpectedly quit" then a window would appear asking whether I want to send the error report of apple... why does this happen?

that happened a lot to my ms word until i upgraded it to the latest version (well, latest before office 04). it could be an app problem, it could also be a memory shortage, although i doubt that.

I found when that happens repairing the permissions and deleting the preference files normally clear up the problem
