The Airport Express will only work with ethernet cables (RJ-45) so no dial up there. Only with DSL or cable internet.

If you really need WiFi via dialup, look for someone selling an old airport base station snow. It comes with a built-in modem that supports dialup.

You can also get the current Airport Extreme Base Station (with modem and antenna port). Aside from being able to connect to your ISP via dial-up now, you'll be able to dial-in and use your broadband connection later on. Make sure you get the one with the built-in modem, there are 2 models which look almost identical (the one without the modem has been discontinued, but you'll still find a lot of them around).

I have an old Airport Base Station that has the dial up modem which I can sell if you want. Would 5000 be a fair deal?

Dialup over WiFi isn't too bad if it's just for email and light surfing. Earlier this year when we still didn't have broadband, I would hook my wife's laptop up to a dialup connection (prepaid Internet pa) and set it to broadcast the connection over her built in AirPort Extreme card, in effect turning the PowerBook into a base station. Then I would be able to surf on my own laptop from other rooms, albeit a little slower than usual.

i also have a question here. i have an airport express & im just "praning" when it comes to other people lurking on my network. so what i do is when im not using the computer i "unplugged" my airport express (w/c guarantees that no one can use the network right? coz no signal is being broadcast) i have the network password activated but this is just my way of doing precautionary security for my PB
my question: is it ok for me to do this? (or is it even recommended to do this) would this shorten my airport express "life expectancy"? what would be the best way to secure it other than the password log in?
and the option NOT to broadcast your network name on the airport express set up. i did activate it but everytime im logged out and try logging in, it automatically fills in the network name & waits for me to fill in the password. so how come POP-up screen filled up the network name when it wasnt suppose to broadcast my network name? i only have 1 computer so im not sure if other computers try logging in if they will have the network name filled up for them. coz if that is the case then how am i suppose to make this option work for me?
thanks again guys
