    Default PLdt MyDsl Speed update

How fast is your PLDT MYDSL nowadays? I am getting between 350 kbps on average. Is that good enough? Am using the Mcafee Speedometer to test the bandwidth.

350Kbps should be about right for myDSL Pro. myDSL Pro's supposed to be a 384Kbps package now.

The myDSL packages were upgraded a few months back:

    myDSL Personal - from 128Kbps to 256kbps, still P2,500/month
    myDSL Pro - from 256Kbps to 384Kbps, still P3,000/month

    Hi jobm,

Note the difference between Kbps and KB/s. These are two different measurements. DRU777 is getting 350 Kbps which stands for Kilobits per second. DSL speeds are measured in Kbps, like what you see when you go to sites like bandwidthplace or Mcafee Speedometer. When you divide 350 by 8, you'll convert it to KB/s or Kilobytes per sec.

KB/s is what you see in the download manager when using Safari or IE. So in this case, 350 Kbps / 8 = 44KB/s which is almost the same as what you're getting.

    FYI:
    1 Kilobyte (KB) = 8 Kilobits (Kb)
    1 Megabyte (MB) = 1024 Kilobytes

I'm also getting 40+KB/s speeds. Sometimes, I also fail to access websites. I just give it a few seconds then try again, and then it works. It just happened right now in fact.
