You can burn your PC files on a CD-R or use a removable USB or Firewire drive. It would be much easier and faster if you're on a network though.

An ethernet crossover cable might work. I tried this Mac to Mac but i'm not sure if it works with PCs too.

you could use a cross-over cable if you don't have a switch/hub... then connect it to both Ethernet ports...

have you tried using floppies? joke

i tried a peer to peer via crossed-cable. This was during pre-Jaguar though and it didn't work. Maybe OS 10.3.5 allows this already.

As Eric mentioned, best if you're in a network. FYI, Panther seamlessly connects to Windows networks.

i'm not sure if crossover ethernet cables work between Macs and PCs. There's no harm in trying though. But first, you need to buy a crossover cable from a PC shop such as Columbia or Villman, if its not available, you can ask a handy PC guy to make one for you. The wire that looks like a thin ethernet cable that came w/ your iBook is the modem cable, that won't do.

Plug in your crossover cable to your Mac's and PC's ethernet ports. Turn on Windows Sharing on your Mac (Preferences>Sharing), take note of the address at the bottom of the window. To access your Mac's Public Folder from your PC, type in the address provided. Ex. \\192.0.0.1\lei

If this works, you can drag and drop your PC files to your iBook.

Yes, a cross over cable will work between macs and PCs. I just did it. The cheapest way is to go to any PC store and have them make it for you. Make sure that you tell them you want a cross cable. Should cost around P150 for a 5 meter cable.

you actually don't need a crossover but just a regular ethernet cable. the ethernet port of the iBook automatically does a crossover thingy if needed. i've tried it before. you can get belkin ethernet cables at HMR for 30 bucks lang.
