ok ba ang mac?
Hi I've been using PC for a long time already & I'm planning to buy a mac - Powerbook G4...
I'm a graphic designer but I don't really have any idea about mac. Can anyone help me? I have only used a mac for a few times (3 times maybe - during job interviews - hahah). Will there be a big change? What's the difference between amac & a PC? will the major graphic program/softwares be compatible with it & are there technical services being offered here?
Thanks so much

Migrating to OS X obviously has its difference from Windows. There will be a change in the user interface, but nothing too dramatic. Most programs and file types are compatible with a Mac.

Switch! Switch! Muggers! Why should chilled_ketchup switch? Graphic Designer pa!
All major graphics programs are fully compatible with the Mac.
Even if answers don't come, search this forum and you'll see why a Mac would be ideal. You won't regret it.

And you have to ask that question in a Mac forum... wink - wink
I switched to Mac July last year and have loved every minute of it since then. If only Visual Studio .NET is available in Mac, I would use my Mac even at work (unluckily, i have to use PC for office).
The changes will only confuse you for maybe 2-3 days to get the hang on the differences in the OS, most programs work the same, eg Photoshop...
Switch ka na!!!! and welcome to PhilMug!!!

now my PC-using friends call me a hardcore mac fanatic, so even though you may have heard enough responses from the others here, i'd still give my :2cents:
Is the Mac good? NO! it's the best! especially in graphic design.
welcome to PhilMUG!

Ya, I know... almost all advertising agencies - specially the big time ad agencies & design companies use mac that's why I'm making a change
I just want to make sure (heheh) that it's worth it. Also playing safe...
Thanks so much! Mwah!

You can read and listen to all of us rave about the Macintosh till this thread grows to several pages....
Let the machine speak for itself!
Go to PowerMac at Megamall. Powerplant or GB1 and demo a unit until you're satsfied.
