    Default newbie with query

    hi, my wife got a black Macbook 2.4 about two months ago. well, I can say it's quite different from the windows laptop that i got used to(different in a good way) . I can't seem to find how to switch windows or tabs without using the mouse. In windows I only use alt+tab. can anyone help me with this simple problem? thanks in advance.

    It's almost identical to that. In Mac, you use Command+Tab. Command is the key with the apple logo or the clover-like symbol...

    A cooler option is to use expose. Just press F9 or F10 on the Mac and you'll see what I mean.

    Control-Tab for switching browser tabs or windows for the active applications.
    ⌘-Tab for switching running applications.

    I have Expose set so that if i move the mouse pointer to the top right corner, I can see all open windows. I can then choose whatever window I want.

    Much faster, no keyboard strokes, no need for flipping thru open windows like alt+tab.

    EDIT: To see my setup for yourself, Go to Sys Prefs, Expose...In Active Screen Corners, make the selection for the top right "All Windows". (And if anyone's curious, Bottom left is set to "Spaces", and top left is "Desktop" and Bottom Right is "Dashboard"

    Sorry, didn't realize they remapped the expose buttons. You can try F3 or F4 (not sure with the new batches)

    F3 is the Expose button and F4 is the Dashboard button on the newer MacBooks.

    Exactly! You probably have only 2 applications running (safari & finder) when pressing Command+Tab. And you only got 1 browsing tab in safari so nothing to switch into as you press Control+Tab.

    actually it's still F9 and F10 you you only forgot to mention fn+F9 and fn+F10 =)

    @mattootokar
    you could at least learn how to use spaces and expose, they really come in handy, it's in system preference,

    and for transferring between applications you could just use F3
