    Default newbie help

Hey guys!!! I just got my ibook g4 today and im loving it so far. ive a problem though. This one is supposed to have a bluetooth device installed in it. But when i try to open the bluetooth application, a message appears and tells me thacteres no bluetooth device detected. I used to be a windows user and id like to know if there is also an option where i can view all the hardware installed on this ibook. I really need to know so i can go back to the retailer i bought this laptop from and ask him about this problem. thank you guys!

Question: Does the Bluetooth icon appear on your upper right?

For other information re: your hardware. Try running System Profiler which is found in the Utilities folder in your Applications.

The weird thing about 10.3.5 (or even earlier versions) is that even though you marked the check box that says "Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar" after a while the icon disappears. I am using an iBook G4. I don't know how to duplicate this.

I use BluePhoneMenu and I sometimes remove my BT dongle whenever I move around my iBook. After awhile the icon disappears but the BT still works though. I just hate it that the icon isn't there.

No device detected means you have no other device with Bluetooth turned on. Go to system preferences and under hardware, open bluetooth. If that still doesn't work, you might have to bring it back to your reseller.
