My biggest reason to switch to a Mac!
I'm fed up with pop ups, hi-jacking web pages. I just spent 2 hours removing this coolwebsearch hi-jacking program. No matter how may times I run the CWS shredder, it keeps coming back. I tried searching the registry one by one and yet it comes up after a few minutes even if I disconnect from the router. It's like Steve Jobs ordered a group of hackers and came up with this hi-jackling program so Windows users will switch to a Mac
I hope this isn't a problem with OSX. I can't wait to get my ibook!

Hi. I am still a PC user about to switch to mac.
While you are on PC you might want to refer to these solutions:
1.) Pop-ups are blocked automatically if you use Windows XP SP2
2.) Spyware: Try using Spybot Search and Destroy

for the meantime, use Firefox instead of I.E.

I second cyberprince's suggestion re: Spybot. Best anti-spyware tool for Windows, IMHO.

Using a PC and can't afford to go Mac yet? Install Firefox and kill those pop-ups. Use Zone Alarm and kick that MS Firewall out the Window! Heheh...

best way to protect yourself on a wintel machine
(proven in an enterprise environment)
1) Spybot S&D 1.3 (removes spyware)
2) Adaware SE (removes spyware not found by S&D)
3) Spyware Blaster (blocks spyware/malware/adware from coming in in the first place.)
of course you gotta keep yourself updated all the time in order to be as secure as you can be.

I already used:
Spybot
Spydoctor
Adaware
CWS Shredder
and still it keeps coming back, even used Norton Cleansweep to remove all IE cached files and all other unwated files. But this is getting off toppic so again. That's muy biggest reason for switching. Although I'm keeping my desktop for gaming of course.

And cripple a lot of software in the process. Go Mac!
