how to save html on mac
My daughter is learning html in school and wanted to know if she can create and save files with a .html extension. She tried using ms word on her ibook and tried to save with an html file extension but the page comes out wrong on her internet explorer on her mac. She also tried using textedit but can't seem to save as an html page. Would appreciate any help on this. She says that she doesn't have any problems when using a regular pc as there is an option to save as a webpage but she can't seem to find a way to do the same on her mac. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

using textedit.. she just has to make sure to make it plain text. Format -> make plain text.. then when she'll be able to save it as a normal text file.. in the save dialog.. instead of having it as untitled.txt.. change the .txt to .html and save it as untitled.html
Hope that made sense..

you could also get a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML Editor like Dreamweaver... just love using it

html word
1.In the file menu of Word, under Save and Save As, there is a Save as Web Page command.
2. Also, if you choose Save As..., you can choose to save the Word doc as a web page

Another neat (read: free) HTML program is NVU. Some Linux/Unix using friends recommended it. I had been looking for an inexpensive FrontPage-like program for a year, and I think this is it. Just like FrontPage (or maybe also DreamWeaver, which I haven't ahd the chance to use), each file/page can be views in normal, html-code, and preview versions.
Really cool. Oh, did I mention that it's free?
