i got this cleaner which is designed especially for mac computers and other hardware... its called iClean. i bought it at rockwell, the electronic store selling mostly Bose products, near the cinema. cost me around 2k for a 100ml solution, with spray bottle and two 3m lint-free, scrath free wipers. it think, considering the price of your 'book, its worth it.
Happy to Help

Hi franpal, you could try a white staedtler eraser to remove those spots. Actually, any eraser will do.

if you want the cheapest solution to cleaning your ibook inside and out (well except for the screen of course) i use MC Multi Purpose Cleaning Solution that can be found at any hardware store.. just use a tiny bit on the spot and it will do wonders

Polar Bear, it doesn't always work. I once had an iBook 700 that was stained with at the wrist area. MC, Wipe Out, Joy, rubbing alcohol, WD-40 (none of which is recommended), they all didn't work. The Staedtler eraser did the trick though.

I also recommend the eraser...i use the white soft staedtler eraser...just be sure that you won't wipe the bits to the keyboard.

I use a bathsoap solution(safeguard + water) to clean my stains on my wristpad with a lint free cloth, rinse with a damp cloth to remove the soap afterwards.
