Default Help on Leopard isight Photo Booth

Hi guys, just got my macbook last december and im really happy with it! But i have a problem...

while taking pics using the isight on photobooth, i used some backgrounds(roller coaster, dots, etc) which require you to step out of the frame..i did that but when i took pictures, there are still parts of the REAL BACKGROUND that are seen in the picture. are u guys experiencing the same problems?

Note: When i used the normal mode, sepia, face warp options, etc ---The pictures were great.

You can't expect it to work perfectly all the time, as it only deletes the background approximately. Unless you edit the rest of the photo yourself in Photoshop.

The kind of background and lighting greatly affects how well the Photo Booth effects turn out. Here are some tips from the Apple Knowledge Base article Mac OS X 10.5: Using iChat Backdrop Effects:

Tips for using iChat Backdrop Effects
To avoid "holes" in your foreground image (in other words, in your image), make the background as uniform in color as possible, and make that color as different from colors in the foreground as possible. Your background image should not include color shades that match your clothing, hair, or skin tone. For example, if your Backdrop image is mostly a bright blue sky, and you are wearing a similarly bright blue shirt, "holes" may appear in your shirt where it overlaps the background sky.

If any part of the background moves after the detection, the moving objects will not be part of the background anymore. "Holes" will appear. You should pay attention to shadows that are part of the background but move when the user moves back in front of the camera. Make sure not to move your camera after the background snapshot takes place.

Reflective surfaces in the background should be avoided.

A dark room makes it harder for this effect to work. Make your area as well-lit as possible.

Note: You can press Command-Option-R to reset the background at any time in iChat.

    Greetings muggers!

I have a problem with my Photobooth. I'm currently on Leopard and when I record videos, it seems to only get a small portion of the video I took. For example, while I take a 1-2 minute video, it seems to only get about the first 30 seconds. It is very inconsistent on how much footage it captures when my video goes beyond 1-2 minutes. Of course, I'd want to capture any video as long as I want.

Does anyone encounter this problem? Please help! TIA.

Up! I have the same question as well. Photo Booth cuts the video no longer than a minute.

Are there any third party apps for recording videos via iSight?

haven't encountered this issues so far, I use my photo booth video capture and I have free time of using it for how long or how short. last time I record a clip for about minutes.

and by the way, you can use your Quicktime to record Videos via iSight..
