HELP! Accidentally copying large amount of files to desktop
Actually this isn't my problem but a friend. anyway, he accidentally copied all his song library to his desktop by drag and drop. Its around 900 songs. We don't know how to cancel it. can anyone help? Thanks very much

That didn't work as well. Thanks for the replies anyway.
It seems that he has too many files on his desktop (around a thousand or so) and because of this, it may have hanged. His other applications do respond. Only finder doesnt respond. Resetting doesnt do anything because the desktop will still have to display thousands of files on the desktop and this causes it to stop responding.
What we did was we created an account with admin status, access this buggy account, open its desktop in finder and move the files from there. I don't know if that solved his problem because I didnt wait around to see him finish it.
Just thought it would help if anyone would encounter the same problem in the future.

Hi Anthony!
Sorry to hear about what happened to your friend's desktop as it's happened to me before.
At that time, we weren't able to come up w/ any "automated" solution to rectify the error so we had to transfer the over-1000 files one by one, very tedious yet necessary, to get things back in order.
