Are you using it as your 2nd monitor or extension with your MBP?

If your are using a usb cable, try a spare one to check the condition of cables. If you are using a mini dvi to vga or dvi, restart you mac while the monitor is on. Im using a Samsung 2253LW as an external for my MBP now. Or still could be the cables.

I think you should check if you encounter the same problem with another monitor or projector--to isolate where the problem is coming from. Judging from the looks of your monitor, it is probably still under warranty.
