Hi Patrick! Of couse To everyone who has problems signing in to yahoo messenger with errors of server connection or something. Go to System Preferences/Network/Advanced/Proxies. Then UNCHECK everything Web proxy, Auto proxy blah blah Click okay and then apply.

Restart everything just to make sure for a refresh. Check again if everything's uncheck. Open yahoo messenger and you're good to go

Hi. I am having problems with YM too although my problem is more of maintaining a connection. I am able to log-in but then after a few seconds of connection, it disconnects, then connects again then disconnects -- you get the point.

I am thinking it might be because of my internet connection but I downloaded Adium and it worked fine. I gave up on using YM and I'm currently using Adium but it lacks certain features like file transfer, camera, etc.

I tried to do what teamjm suggested but my settings were already set exactly as what he directed. I read online that this is a common problem and most of the respondents just suggested using Adium. >_<

I hope somebody out there knows a fix to this problem.
