Im saving it for something else eh, HnL. Kaya a decision to buy is really taxing when i think of it. Even my konsiyensiya and my demonyo are both having a hard time debating about it.
Hinay hinay lang ako.

Hi Tantin!:
It seems that if the Mac will ever be completely welcome in your company, you'll have to do some "evangelizing" of your own first. The gatekeepers should see firsthand how much more productive you become when you use the Mac.
Having your own Mac will serve you well in converting the rest of your co-workers & the higher-ups. Who knows? Down the road, getting the greenlight in buying a Mac may become 2nd nature in your company. But it has to start somewhere.

Budgeting season once more. And as in previous years, I alway place a mac on my capex for graphics purposes.

1st year? well we got an imac, but it didnt get assigned in our office. Its in makati

2nd year? I placed an imac again, didnt get thru once more

3rd year? this is last year, placed a request for tibook, nearly passed, but sadly, still didnt pass.
Now this year - a Mac G5 to go with a big printer. If this doesnt push through, im done with requesting a mac from our office. Gonna get one myself na lang.
Talk about perseverance.

So Mr. Tantin,
el CaMOTe here. So you've been using a PC at work all these years, you do not have a single Mac anywhere is that correct and you 'lurk' in PhilMUG and froth at the mouth when we talk about Mac ??? If this is true "Que Horrible, que Lastiko!"
 to you when it all comes together. Get a Mac and you will never be sorry. Your  seems to be winning here, remember the "C" in MAC stands for Christian/Catholic, the "P" in PC stands for Plutonian !!!
Cheers,
Been using naman an imac at the makati office for some photoshop and illustrator jobs - to personally make all of our in-house product literature. Though my skills in the OS itself is still basic.
Froth? Not really. I just weigh my options, and take my time about it. Cant help about the PC being the choice of the company. What they give me, I just receive. Though I am making an effort to have a mac as an extra unit. As for lurking, I think the word should be mingling online, since I do contribute to some posts, and read up on some posts that will help me understand mac some more. I think "lurking" are for online wallflowers. :2cents:
Though all of a sudden, being mac-less in this forum does make me feel like a lesser being.
Peace, and Thanks

Agree Al,
... but with a Mac in front of you at all times, you become more "pantayer!"
Reason: I have a nephew in Geneva who is so scared to download would you believe Yahoo Messenger because he does not want to 'upset' his PC with Millenium in it !!
I have close close friends who talk about their 'sick, infected' PC lappies and desktops !! Sure we are all 'pantay' with having computers, but Mac people really do not worry about these things and are instantly more productive.
Tantin, leap of faith, bite the bullet, use Citybank Paylite, eMacs are on sale, check out Ditoy for a possible pre-owned lappie, ... Just DOH it !!!!

I'd advise you to resist the urge and wait for the next generation G5s

i couldn't agree more with Arel. you can't really "share" what you don't have. so first step is to own a MAC and then it's almost automatic--people in your organization will see the 'light' and they'll crave for Apple products like everyone else. but Kenneth has a good point, it might be wise to wait for the new G5's.
