    Default 2G iPod Question

I saw a 2G 10GB iPod for sale and really want to buy it since I've always wanted to have one for myself since the first generation came out. Unfortuntely, I'm still saving up for a mac portable and cannot afford a brand new 4G iPod nor the Mini's. My question is, can I use this one with a PC notebook with firewire? Is there a software that I can use to make it Windows compatible? Thanks!

    Yes.

If you saw the original 10 GB 2G ipod for Windows, it comes with media player MUSICMATCH Jukebox Plus. But then again, why you need that when iTunes for Windows works perfectly with it.

However, if you saw the 10 GB 2G ipod for mac, you can still use it by simply downloading the appropriate ipod software for windows (Version 1.4, to be exact) here. Reset the firmware for Windows use and dowload iTunes for Windows.

I had a 2G 10 GB iPod for mac and sold to a Windows-user colleague and it works fine on his Windows XP box.

    Hope this helps.

i think your can't reset it... i believe you have reflash/update the firmware to the original firmware version.
