Re: Windows Vista RTM
Just to add to what neilc mentioned - it's also very useful for web development. As much as we hate IE, we have to accept the fact that majority of the world uses it - and since websites are made to be accessible to the public, we obviously have to be responsible enough to test it on such browsers.
And there still are apps that are better in windows (if you get past the obvious degradation in aesthetic). I personally believe nothing [yet] touches Sony Soundforge for wave editing, not BIAS Peak, not Apple SoundTrack - Sony SoundForge is still the better wave editor hands down. And I absolutely love VirtualDUB for video transcoding.
Also in the media codec realm, it's much easier to find codecs for those obscure formats in windows compared to the mac. This obviously isn't an issue if you stick to widely accepted formats, but if you download videos from different places a lot, and there's this strange file you've never heard of before, chances are the windows platform will be ahead in supporting them - then eventually trickle down to the mac. So if you transcode video a lot, having a windows machine handy can solve a lot of problems.
Oh, and for a bit of irony. I was able to recover files off of an unmountable HFS volume from a windows machine running MacDrive. In the Mac, no disk tool can even SEE it, let alone mount and recover data (techtool, diskwarrior, datarescue, etc.), but in windows, it kind of forced loaded the drive and displayed what it could... then I tried copying what I could. I was able to recover about half of the data from the PC where I could recover NONE from the Mac.

As for me, I administer around a dozen Windows 2003 servers and running Windows on my upcoming MacBook (either through Parallels or through Boot Camp) will help me do it more efficiently than running Windows terminal services (RDC).

I saw somewhere that someone has reached the vista installation prompt but he was too afraid to install it.

I hope it would be likely so.
