Mac OS X is $129. WindowsXP Home is $200 XP Pro is $300*, not including anti-vrius software subscriptions.

*retail box price with licensing terms comparable to Mac OS X. WinXP OEM is cheaper but is non-transferrable (i.e. you can't transfer the license to another computer, such as when selling the MacBook).
