Parallels Virtualization on OS X
Hot on the heels of Boot Camp comes Parallels Workstation 2.1 Beta - the first virtualization solution for Intel Macs.
Some of its features:
- not a dual-boot solution
- use Windows, Linux and any other operating system at the same time as Mac OS X
- full support for dual-core processors and Intel Virtualization Technology
- free and fully-functional

Re: Parallels Virtualization on OS X
I can see it now.
Sooner or later, Adobe (or some other enterprising application vendor) will release _universal_ installation CDs of their apps for both XP (or Longwait) and Leopard, and need only be installed once on Intel Macs with a dual-boot or virtualized Windoze partition... cool idea if you ask me.
Next, they'll even interoperate. Run it in OS X, XP, or XP in a virtual machine under OS X - doesn't matter. They'll access the same preferences, plugins, documents, etc.
Since you're still only technically installing on one machine (that just happens to run multiple/simultaneous OSes) - it shouldn't go against any of their existing licensing terms.
That'll be the day.

Interesting, this will be helpful for developers that need to check with browsers.
Design. Images. Usability.

Re: Parallels Virtualization on OS X
I wonder how Parallels does performance-wise when compared to Boot Camp.

Re: Parallels Virtualization on OS X
Will this be like VPC and Q? or will it run like it booted natively and has full hardware support?
There are two things in life that you should do to be successful. 1) Do not share everything you know.
Anyone can grab a Tiger by it's balls, but it takes a real MAN to squeeze.
