hi guys i really need your help. I was trying to install XP using boot camp but after it formats it will restart right.? then as soon as it restart . It will try to start the installation of Xp again. I've been doing this allday. It says installation succesful but as soon as it restarts it will go over agian.! so I tried ejecting the disk, put up my OS X installation disk and I can't even reformat my HD. I don't expect my files to be back I just want my macbook to work again please what should i do??? I'm only asking a favor from 1 of my roommate to use her windows laptop and besides that I live here in toronto but u can still text me on my smart cellphone 09182100798. please help this is my life.
Let me get this straight, your installation of XP goes in cycle right? Try this, after having installed XP and restarting, don't press any key when you are prompted to press any key to boot from cd (my guess is you always boot to your cd by pressing any key that's why you keep on looping back). Just leave it alone til XP is booted and setup is completed properly. Once you are in windows already, then install the bootcamp drivers from your leopard disc. From there, you can now opt to boot either XP or Mac by pressing option key while powering on.
you know what happened I lost my Mac HD and i think na overwrite nung windows, I don't know where in the installation process but everytime I load the leopard disk it always ask me to install it, But I figured it out I re installed my mac and will never try boot camp ever again. whew I spent all day working on it. I'm so scared I thought I destroyed my precious thing. Good thing almost all my files are still in my old desktop so eventhough all my files got erased I can recover them. I will do the recovery this weekend. Now i'm on the process of downloading all the apps again. Next payday I will buy my ExternalHD. Its really a traumatizing experience. Thanx for the advice *jayteecie
Oh, that's too bad. Yeah I guess it would be better to just leave bootcamp alone unless you really need windows for other purposes. But hey, since your mac is freshly installed, now is the best time to try bootcamp really. No worries if you mess it up. Just a thought there. Hehe! If you ever decide to try it once more, just make sure you format the correct partition and not your mac one.
aww.. i had the same problem, i lost my hd as well but just install it again, (bad thing is that you've already lost your files) and when you finish installing it (is it leopard?) if it is, bootcamp will be accessible again.
