    Default Fully Mobile

    What is the best (value-for-money) PDA/Phone that can sync with a mac? I need a PDA/Phone that can transmit/receive emails and faxes.

    Is there software that will allow me to fax directly from my mac (without having to print a hard copy)? Does it work with GPRS and/or Wifi?

    I think I read in the newspaper a new product/service from PLDT that will allow a "fully mobile office" (phone, internet, email, faxes). I can't seem to remember the name. Does anyone know what it is and if its good?

    Right now I just have an iBook, a T610 and an Palm T2. But I find myself having to transmit/receive faxes and email from outside my office a lot of times. Can anyone provide a solution (hopefully not too expensive)?

    you can find a p800 for 12k or less (used) in greenhills... isyncs well, most of the time which can replace your palm and t610 (a pretty good phone actually, just not enough memory)

    faxing is a built in service of panther and tiger, check the 'print & fax' pref.pane in system preferences and it can use the p800 as a dialer (will not use gprs or wifi) as long as you setup the phone to act as a 'modem' the first time you pair it with the ibook (im assuming you have bluetooth?) from there you can fax just as if you were printing. yes, you 'print' to fax!

    My 2 cents,

    Fully mobile and inexpensive don't go together I'm afraid.

    Phone choices can range from Phones equipped with Symbian UIQ (Sony Ericssons), to PocketPC (O2 XDA) and PalmPC (Treo 650s).

    I suggest you pick up some back-issues of mp|h, it's a great magazine and should clear up what phone/pda best suits your requirements;

    As to the fully mobile part, you might want to read this thread. PLDT WeRoam has been thouroughly been tested by some members.
