boot from ipod?
i wasn't sure where to post this. though i would like to ask if it is possible to boot my panther on my ipod? i currently have a 40G ipod and would like to bring all my softwares on it as back up. i am planning to go out of town for a long time and would prefer to bring all my installers with me, through my ipod, to lessen load and avoid crushing them during the trip.
is it possible to reinstall panter through the ipod i should ask? if it is how? thanks

Yes you can. Best way is to clone your PB with Carbon Copy Cloner or a similar app. Do a search for more inputs since this has already been discussed here.

Be warned that your iPod will heat up something fierce.

when i charge it, it heats up also. is that bad?

Nope, thats normal. But running panther, it'll get even hotter.
When charging, your battery heats up. But when booting using your iPod, your HD heats up. That can't be good in the long run.

fyi - have seen iPods die of overheating when used as boot up drives. had one die after just a few hours trashed as a server. remember that as far as applecare is concerned, this is not a supported use of an iPod
