Hi Steve -- as it happens, I am currently doing research into this very issue. Am trying to find a PCI Firewire/USB 2.0 combo card that will work under OS 10.2.8 on a beige G3/233. I have verified that the IOGear combo card does not work (and now I have to return the two I ordered to Other World Computing). Apparently the IOGear card's minimum hardware requirement is a blue-and-white G3.Originally posted by theanimaster

However, OWC Tech Support suggested that I try the Sonnet Tango card instead. It costs $20 more, but OWC confirms that they have tested it successfully on the beige G3.
I think the main issue with your 7300 is: does it have 32-bit PCI slots? Because most, if not all, of these PCI Firewire/USB cards are 32-bit. If your Mac has the older 16-bit PCI slots, then you might be out of luck.
