    Default what\'s the problem here?

    i'm using a powerbook 15" with osx 10.2.8

when my laptop reached 9% battery capacity, i switched to sleep mode. after a few hours, i plugged it on the outlet and opened it to use. it was at remaining 3% - approximately.

i made a dial-up connection to my isp, when i got a carrier a message suddenly popped up, which is this:

i noticed that my nattery charger was flashing green and orange. then, my battery indicator doesn't seem to be charging. i couldn't control my laptop anymore so i shut it down.

when i turned it on, everything was back to normal except one thing. my battery aint charging and the battery charger was still flickering both green and orange light.

i noticed one thing. when i put my laptop to sleep or shut it down, it charges. i thought that it's a software problem since the battery gets charged anyway so rebooted again. still, the same problem.

when i use my laptop plugged in, i drain my battery slowly since it charges a few seconds then off then charges again, then off.... and so on....

now i noticed that the battery charger seems to have pattern of flickering and it seems like a code of some sort. it turns on green, then turns orange and flickers 3x then back to lighting up green, then turns orange and flickers 3x then again and again....

    anyone experienced the same problem?

    any input would be helpful.

    advance thanks!

    regards,
    david

the image you got is a "kernel panic", the precise mechanics of which i can't explain except to say that it could be caused by a software incompatibility with the hardware (it often happens after a system upgrade or the installation of a new program). often curable by a further upgrade or update, or a downgrade to the previous status. i know this isn't very clear or helpful, so i suggest you do a search for "kernel panic" on this site or on google or on the apple site for more information.

it's a terrifying thing when it happens to you the first time, but we all (or most of us) have to deal with it at some point--and we and our machines survive them and stabilize. good luck!
