Tiger/10.4
Hold on to your hats folks Jobs will be unveiling 10.4 this WWDC. I hope this'll come out at the same time as the CF Powerbook G5s.

I've recently changed my view of OS X "upgrades." Many people hesitant and uncomfortable because of the ".1 upgrade" line of thinking. But if you really come to think about it, its no different than a Mac OS 7->8>->9 upgrade. Each ".1 upgrade" is really an iteration of "Mac OS X" the operating system.
Considering how much has improved from one iteration over the other, I think the $125 upgrade price is fine. And for those who don't feel the same way, the current Mac OS X is, after all, very much usable.
I'm looking forward to what 10.4 will bring. MS's Longhorn may be a ways off (~2 years), but if what it promises will be delivered, then Apple has to make sure Mac OS X stays in a comfortable lead.

I agree. A .1 upgrade for OS X is actually worth more than .1. And where else can you find an OS that makes the same hardware system faster with every .1 upgrade? :-)

I don't think so, too. WWDC 2004 is just 7 weeks away, and Apple just released the new AlBooks a couple of weeks ago. 2+ months is too short a time for a PowerBook update.
But seeing that OS X 10.4 "Tiger" probably won't be released till December, there's still a chance that Dust's wish will come true. ;-)
