    Hi DIREK AL!:

Go to System Prefs then select Accounts. You'll see Start-Up Items there. Good luck!

Thanks too. When I viewed this thread I checked my items out and it seems that there are stuff that I don't even need. Of course, I took them out and my ibook loads up faster.

One impotant note: Mac OS X has _two_ "startup folders":

    1. Personal Login Items (as Arel pointed out), and
    2. System Startup Items (ala extensions of Mac OS 9.x)

The former is simply the list of applications that will launch when a particular user logs in. The latter is for system-wide use, and can be found in /Library/StartupItems.

Default Removing stubborn application in the Login Items?

I cannot get this Extensis Suitcase removed and deleted from the Login Items in the Accounts preferences.

This happened when i removed my Suitcase X and Installed Suticase X1. The Login Item of Suitcase X is still in the system although I have completely deleted the application. Now, it's causing problems with the Suitcase X1's start up. Anyone knows how I can delete both and re-add the Suitcase X1.

I tried to boot in Safe mode to delete but still would not allow me to delete. Can not find a folder in Tiger that has all the Login Start-up items. Much appreciated.
