Software Update Questions
I've got a couple of software updates available and i'm wondering if i actually need anything really bad. i'm running os 10.3.4, and this is what comes up when i click on software update:
Apple Remote Desktop Client 1.2.4
iCal 1.5.5
iMovie Update 4.0.1
iPod updater 2005-02-22
iSight update 1.0.2
Java update 1.4.2 1.4.2 update 2
Mac OS X update combined 10.3.8
Security update 2004-8-9 1.0
what do i really really need to install? i don't use iMovie, i don't have iSight, i don't know what apple remote desktop client is, and about the others, i'm kinda scared to install it on my imac g3. i'm kinda preserving hard drive space (got 30 gigs)
any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

Hi Angel,
I think for your needs you can just update the following:
Mac OS X update combined 10.3.8
Security update 2004-8-9 1.0
You might also consider updating your Java (Java update 1.4.2 1.4.2 update 2.) Some applications may need it.

thanks for the replies. call me paranoid, but i'm actually quite intimidated by all the posts i've read on the apple discussion boards about people's macs acting up after doing software updates. you all think my iMac g3 can handle os 10.3.8? its the 350mhz blueberry slot loading.
also, there have been some cases of iPod shuffles dying after installing the ipod update. sorry if this has been discussed before here, and if i'm paranoid, but still need more advice. thanks again.
